I canmake is I’m going to do it right I’m going tomake sure people are safe what are some of thethings that you remember me talking about that Ithought were kind of main contributors or maybethings that could have save these homes fromburning I would definitely say smoke detectorsthat saved that saved our home before speakingsmoke detectors are huge there’s a lot of stuffpeople don’t know about smoke detectors they don’tknow that smoke detector regardless of your typeof smoke detector battery electrical combinationum they expire in 10 years they specificallyare stamped in the back they expire becausethe contaminants in the air they get on thesensors of the smoke detectors and they’re notas effective when they need to be used in factI have a challenge for you why don’t you pausethis go check the date on your smoke detectoryou have the ability don’t get on a ladderif you’re if if you’re not healthy if you’reWeeble wobble that’s why.

Of the home for overheating uh over current um short circuit sum if you have a circuit breaker that’s tripping and it’s happening regularly for you don’t just keep resetting it call an expert how us come outro somebody come out who knows what they’re doing and test it we want to make sure that’s protecting the system like it should circuit protectors they fail in two ways they fail to continue electricity to your home or they fails to operate when they need to they don’t shut the power off when they need to and that could be a hazard could be afire could be could be dangerous so if you have breaker that’s tripping regularly check it out if not called professional what GFCI’s water and electricity don’t always mix Ground Fault Circuit Interruptor um that’s a perfect one that’s a that that device.
Is specifically designed to protect the user of that receptacle or that circuit um you might identify these as those little the plugs on maybe in your kitchen in your bathroom or outside the have little buttons on them it’ll say test and reset regularly press that test button and reset it if if for whatever reason they don’t reset they should be replaced um they also have an expiration manufacturers recommend that they be replaced between 7 and 15 years they should be regularly tested um they also should be tested for how quickly they do their job they need to trip within certain times time frame milliseconds um if they don’t trip within that time again they’re not going to be effect as effective to protect someone from being electrocuted.
So again, always test your circuit breakers your GFCI’s and your smoke detectors that it no there’s more surge protection surge protection most people know of surge protection because you bought a plug strip and you plugged maybe your stereo equipment or something in whole home surge protection is installed at your electrical panel.
And is now required per code on all new homes being built do you know what search protection does it protects your appliances from the outside Energy company pretty much right on surge protection protects you from voltage regulation surges and spikes from your electrical provider we have very unstable grids providing electricity to our homes today utility company shutting power off for periods.
Of time when that power comes back on there’s a surge when you have that unstable electricity it’s really hard on your appliances electronic equipment coexerting in our home today has computer chips in them and it’s really hard on them so without a surge protector you lessen the life expectancy of your appliances you also risk damaging them um and they can overheat can be a fire hazard.
